ONE DAY TOUR TO AGRA-PART-1

APRIL 8, 2018

I was staying then with my family at Bhiwadi in Rajasthan for one month in 2018. We arranged a one day tour to visit to Agra. We booked a car and after breakfast we started our journey on 8th April, 2018. We reached Agra at around 11 am. We went to visit Agra Fort first.

AGRA FORT

Agra Fort was made by the Mughals. Agra was their capital till they made Red Fort in Delhi. In 1638, the capital of the Mughal dynasty was moved from Agra to Delhi and Agra Fort lose its status as the main residence of the Mughals.

We hired a guide to show us around the Fort. His fees was Rs 350. You should hire a guide when you will visit Agra Fort. It would be quite difficult to understand why certain structure were made. Such as, Jahangir had managed to build air condition in his rooms. people used to pour water through the walls-cold water during summers and hot water during winters. When the air used to pass through the walls it would produce heating or cooling effect.

Aurangzeb imprisoned his father Shahjahan in Agra Fort and became the emperor of Mughal dynasty. One can easily see the Taj Mahal from the terrace of the Agra Fort.

Shahjahan spent his last 8 years looking at the Taj Mahal which was constructed by him in the loving memory of his wife Mumtaj.

Our next destination was Fatehpur Sikri.
