DHARAMSHALA TOUR-PART-2

DAY 2, APRIL 2, 2018

After breakfast we went for a full day tour in the morning on 2nd April(2018). We booked a car. The driver took us to the tea garden at Dharamshala.

Tea gardens of Dharamshala are famous in Himachal Pradesh. Dharamshala are not as wide spread as Assam or Darjeeling, but they are nice. We stayed there 30 minutes. Then we went to War Memorial.

WAR MEMORIAL

It is located at entry point of Dharamshala town.’War Memorial’ is a tribute to brave soldiers who sacrificed their life for the country.

HPCA STADIUM

After visiting War Memorial, we went to visit HPCA Stadium or Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium. It is one of the best tourist destinations in Dharamshala. It is located at the height of 1,457 meters above sea level. It is one of the highest sports grounds in the world.

GYUTO MONASTERY

Gyuto Monastery is famous all over the world for the practice of tantric meditation. A beautiful statue of Lord Buddha exists inside the temple. Visiting time of this monastery is from 7 am to 7 pm. We stayed there 30 minutes and then went to Norbulingka Monastery or Norbulingka Institute.

NORBULINGKA MONASTERY

NORBULINGKA MONASTERY

This Monastery is named after Norbulingka, the traditional summer residence of the Dalai Lamas in Lasha, Tibet. It is located in Sidhpur, Dharamshala. It is open every day from 9 am to 5:30 pm.

LOSEL DOLL MUSEUM

Losel Doll Museum is located in Norbulingka Institute of Tibetan Culture. The museum has a collection of 150 dolls dresses in traditional costumes for various regions of Tibet.

HUMMINGBIRD CAFE

After visiting Losel Doll Museum we went to Hummingbird cafe. We had our lunch there. This cafe is located in the beautiful gardens of Norbulingka monastery. They serve all vegeterian international cuisine, fresh cakes etc. We ate vegetable momo, cheese momo, lemon cake,walnut cake and carrot cake in the cafe. The cakes were very tasty and fresh. This cafe is open everyday from 7 am to 9 pm.

After lunch we came out from Norbulingka monastery. The driver was waiting for us. Then we went to see Naddi Sunset point, Dal lake and Bhagsu Waterfall.

BHAGSU WATERFALL

This waterfall is near the main market. You can reach the waterfall by trek 30 minutes from Bhagsu temple. The waterfall was almost dry then. The waterfall looks amazing after rainy season. There are some good restaurants near bhagsu waterfall.
