A TRIP TO DALHOUSIE-PART- 2

The next day(March 29, 2018), after bathing and having breakfast we left for Khajjiar. We booked a full day tour arranged by the hotel. The driver took us to a place called the “Green Valley”, where the views of mountains are amazing. Many photographers were standing there to take photos. We also took photos. Then we went to visit Dainkund peak.

DAINKUND

The Dainkund Peak is located at an altitude of 2755 meters above sea level. This is the tallest peak around Dalhousie. This is noted for having the maximum snowfall in Dalhousie. The noise of the breeze passing through the trees make a musical sound here and so Dainkund is known as singing hill. The Pohlani Devi Temple is situated on the top of the hill. You have to trek about 2 km from the road.

Then we went to Khajjiar. It is 8.8 km away from Dainkund peak.

KHAJJIAR

Khajjiar is a small town in chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is located about 24 km from Dalhousie. It is referred as “mini-Switzerland of India”, but many people don’t like such comparison. Because every place has its own beauty. After reaching to Khajjiar, we had our lunch in a small restaurant and the food was very tasty.

There are some hotels and some cottages run by Himachal Pradesh Tourism at Khajjiar. You can stay one night here.
